Former England captain John Terry was on the receiving end of some initial hostility from sections of the England supporters at Wembley Stadium last night, but turned the jeers into cheers with an assured defensive performance helping England come back from a goal down to beat Egypt 3-1 with goals from Peter Crouch (2) and Shaun Wright-Phillips.
England's match against the 2010 African Cup of Nations champions was just one of a number of matches played in Europe as teams begin to step up their preparations for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, which kicks off in 98 days.
England, captained by Steven Gerrard, who impressed along with Gareth Barry and Wayne Rooney, trailed at halftime thanks to a goal from Egyptian star Mohammed Zidan, who capitalised on a slip from Matthew Upson to give his side a 1st half lead.
Peter Crouch came off the bench to score a goal either side of a strike from Manchester City winger Shaun Wright-Phillips and wrap up what ended as a comfortable win for Capello's charges.
