Former World Cup winning striker Bebeto has become the third man to join the Management Board Local Organising Committee (LOC) for the 2014 Fifa World Cup in Brazil.
The USA '94 star joins LOC President Ricardo Teixera and Brazil legend Ronaldo as board members.
"This is like scoring your first goal or getting called up to the Brazil team for the first time," said the ex-player who formed a great partnership with Romario in the US finals. "I'm going to give everything I've got to help stage the best FIFA World Cup of all time."
Teixera was quick to laud the arrival of Bebeto to the LOC: "Ronaldo and Bebeto did a lot for A Seleo on the pitch. Now they're going to work together off it to ensure the 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil is a success."
"We're going to do everything we can to make this one of the most wonderful assignments of our careers," added former Brazil team-mate Ronaldo, who accompanied the new recruit on a tour of the LOC's offices, situated in Barra da Tijuca, in the western part of Rio de Janeiro. "He's a great addition to our team, which has now got a strike partnership."
Bebeto, famous also for his rock-the-baby goal celebration was also part of the Brazil Italia '90 World Cup Squad and even partnered Ronaldo at France '98.
