Brazil, now coached by Mano Menezes, have won the past two Copa America's, their most recent success coming in 2007 in Venezuela.

Japan are competing in their second Copa America after being invited to the 1999 tournament in Paraguay, while hosts Argentina will be looking to pick up their first piece of senior silverware since 1993, the last time they hosted the tournament.

Argentina and Uruguay are the most successful sides in the Copa America, lifting the title 14 times each.
