Eto'o Scoops Fourth African Footballer Award

Inter Milan and Cameroon striker Samuel Eto'o was last night crowned African Footballer of the Year for a record fourth time, beating Chelsea's Ivorian striker Didier Drogba and Ghanaian Asamoah Gyan who plays for Sunderland to the title.
Eto'o previously picked up the prestigious award on three successive occasions between 2003 and 2005 when he was playing for Spanish side FC Barcelona.
"It is a pleasure to be a winner again, to take it for the fourth time against such top opposition," he said after the ceremony in Cairo.
"Africa now has so many good players and there is lots of talent coming up, so this might be a last chance for me."
Yesterday's success takes him above Ghana's Abedi Pele and George Weah of Liberia who were both named Africa's best player three times during their illustrious careers.
Despite a poor African Cup of Nations and a disappointing World Cup in South Africa with Cameroon, Eto'o has been in fine form for Inter Milan in 2010.
The 29-year-old was part of the team that scooped the treble of Serie A, cup and Champions League scoring 16 goals under Jose Mourinho and has been in blistering form so far this season, netting 19 goals in 23 games including one in the 3-0 win over TP Mazembe in the Fifa Club World Cup final.
