Jamaica were the big winners in round three of the North, Central America and Caribbean qualifying region as the teams bid for a place at Brazil 2014.
The Reggae Boyz beat the USA 2-1 in Kingston despite railing to a Clint Dempsey goal inside the first 60 seconds. Goals from Rudolph Austin and Luton Shelton were enough to secure all three points and move Jamaica three points clear at the top of Group A.
In the same group, Guatemala beat Antigua and Barbuda 3-1 at home to move above the USA into second on goal difference.
In Group B, Mexico made it three wins from three as they beat Costa Rica 2-0 away from home. Carlos Salcido and Jesus Zavala grabbed the goals either side of half time to put their side in complete control of the group.
In Group B's other remaining fixture, El Salvador and Guyana fought out a 2-2 draw.
In the third and final group, Group C, Canada hold a slender one point advantage over Panama after a narrow 1-0 victory in Toronto. Canada currently have 7 points to Panama's six.
Elsewhere, Honduras recorded a comfortable 3-0 win against Cuba in Havana to climb to four points.
